As a result of the latest war unleashed by Israel against the Palestinian people, supported by various imperialist powers, the Houthi guerrillas of Yemen are militarily threatening the merchant ships of the main shipping monopolies that circulate between Asia and Europe, as a measure of pressure for Israel to put an end to the genocide it is carrying out against the Palestinian people.
Since these measures are threatening the international supply and value chains of goods, the US army, together with other allied countries, armed guarantors of the interests of their monopolies, have already announced a military operation in the Red Sea under the name “Operation Prosperity Guardian”. The only prosperity that this operation is intended to safeguard is that of the capitalists.
At first it was announced that the Spanish army would participate directly in the military operation, although later the Minister of Defense has specified that it will only do so under NATO or EU flag. For the PCTE it is indifferent under which flag this new armed intervention is framed, we reject any Spanish participation in imperialist missions abroad and we denounce this new example of the firm commitment of the PSOE-SUMAR government with the monopolies and with the State of Israel.
